Free Inspirational Quote Printable

As I mentioned in this post, I've been working on my secret gallery wall (shhhhh, it's a secret). I made a few different printable quote designs that I'm planning on using for it, and I'm going to be sharing one of this today!!

Isn't it cute? The design is very simple, but the words are so important. I love this quote. It says, "Mistakes are proof that you're trying." 

I think this is such a great reminder especially for me. I'm a perfectionist (it's a blessing and a curse) I often am to hard on myself when I mess up or when someone does something better than me, but I need to learn to accept that I'm only human.

Camera Embroidery Hoop Art

So I realize embroidery hoop art is not a new idea, in fact it's been around for a while. However, I've never actually made any myself so I thought I'd try it out and i thought it would look really cute in my bedroom gallery wall that I've been working on (shhh, don't tell anyone it's a secret).

I decided to embroider a camera because, well, I love photography and my camera and it's something that really "describes" me.

It's super easy! And uses freezer paper (see I told you you would be seeing more freezer paper projects around here)!

Let's get started:

Materials: 

• Embroidery hoop
• solid color cotton fabric 
• contrasting thread
• contrasting (to your fabric) colored pencil 
• freezer paper 
• electronic cutting machine
• sewing machine, scissors, etc

Steps: 

• design a file/ picture of what you want your object in your embroidery hoop to be, import it into the silhouette studio. make sure that your image is only the outline of the object, so it prints correctly (refer to the image below for help) Need help with that? Go here.

• Make sure that you click on "trace" when you are doing the trace area instead of selecting "trace outer edge"  

• Cut the image out on freezer paper. Simply put a piece of freezer paper shiny side down on the cutting machine and cut out the shape. 
• pull the small little line of freezer paper out so it only leaves the negative 

• iron the negative onto the fabric. Do this by ironing the shiny side of the freezer paper on to the fabric. 

• in the empty area wear the positive would of been and draw colored pencil in those parts 

• take of the stencil off and sew of the lines. The first time try to make it as close to the line as possible, after that sew off the line on propose so it gives it the kind of sketchy look 
• put it onto the embroidery hoop 
• hang it up and enjoy!!

Geometric Mason Jar Succulent Pots

Have you noticed how popular succulents are getting? I've been noticing an increase in succulent projects as I've browsed Pinterest and blogs and decided to join in on the craze.

The best part is their cute, cheap, and almost impossible to kill. I've always loved the idea of having fresh flowers/plants around, but I wouldn't say I have a green thumb. Succulents are very low maintenance. You don't have to worry about draining them and if you forget to water them for a few days, they'll be fine. 

I also love the fact that they're small, so you can put them into a mason jar, you don't have to get a big gigantic planter and worry about where to put it.

All I used to paint these jars was some acrylic paint, clear sealing spray paint, painter tape, and a nail file. their so easy to make and I love the distressed look of the paint. 

Materials: 

• succulents ( I got mine at Lowe's for $2 a piece)
• Potting soil 
• Pint mason jars  
• Acrylic paint
• clear spray paint to seal 
• painters tape 
• nail file (for distressing) 
• wax paper 

Steps:

• First look at the cuteness of your little succulents, just kidding. 

• then take your painters tape and put it onto a piece of wax paper and cut it into thinner strips 

• put your tape randomly on the jar and then paint. you can distress the paint with a nail file if you want. 
• Add a coat of clear spray paint to seal the paint  

• Put in the succulents and add some potting soil (remember to water them :).

SUPER CUTE (and printable) Easter Banner

I'm just loving this whole spring thing! I always love spring, but this year winter seems like it's lasting longer than usual. The bright colors make me so happy and I just want to put them every where. I was thinking about the other spring decor I need, and realized that I don't have a banner! Crazy, right! So I made one.

This banner is deferent from the other banners I've made because this banner is all part of a printable. So you won't need anything besides the pages. I've even included printable string! JUST KIDDING (thought you lost me there didn't you)! You are going to need some string or ribbon or whatever your heart desires.

For my banner I used ribbon and the letters, but I also made another banner for my room without all the ribbons and accessories and it's still super cute!

So let's talk about how to make it.


FLAGS:
-print out this sheet. If you want a bigger banner, your going to want to print out more of these sheets. I used two pages of the sheet's for my banner and I really like the length.
- cut out the flags
- punch two holes in the top two corners of the flag with a hole puncher.



PAPER LOLLIES:
- print out this sheet (you need two rectangles for every lolly)
- cut out the rectangles and fold them accordion style.
- hot glue one of the short sides of two of the accordion style rectangles together
- hot glue the other shot edges together so it forms a circle
- press down the circle so the edges on the top come together. put some hot glue in the center of the lolly so it stays pushed down.

WORDS:
- print out this sheet
- punch out the words with a punch
- glue the letters onto the lolly's
-glue the lolly's onto six of the flags

ASSEMBLY:
- put the string through the holes of the each of the flags and put a strip of tape on the back so it stays in place (make sure the flags that spell out "easter" are in the center)
- (optional) tie on a piece of ribbon/string/washi tape in between each flag.


-Hang up!

Budget Post it Notes

So there's this new thing that people are doing and it's REALLY cool and it's called printing on post it notes. When I first saw someone doing it I was completely mind blown and I knew I had to try it myself. I thought to myself whats better to put on post it's then a budget tracker. Each month I get $70 between blogging, allowance, babysitting, etc but I had never really stuck to a solid budget. I used the rule of "well I don't NEED it and it seems like I don't have money for that so I won't buy it" or I just tell myself I'll make it.

Now, I have a solid budget. Each month I spend $25 on clothes, $20 on craft supplies/random stuff, $28 to savings and, $7 to tithing. So I decided on this budget in February and started using it, but I didn't really stick to it. This month I had had enough, I needed to stick to a budget and not spend as much so I can save for my new camera lens :) :) :). 

SO, that's the whole explanation behind this project.

I love the bright colors combined with black ink, it makes me happy. The thing that makes me most happy is that I can easily track my spending without needing to print out a whole page each month.

As I mentioned above, I spend my money in three different categories. Clothes, crafts, miscellaneous, and the rest is savings. I realize not everyone spends in these categories so I also made one that you can pick the category to.

I realize these post it's will not work for everyone. I think they are more geared towards kids who are still living at home and don't have to pay for food, bills, and housing (etc).

MATERIALS:

1. Post it's 
2. Printer 
3. These files 

HOW TO DO IT: 

1. Print out this sheet 

     2. Place six post it's on the sheet above inside the boxes. You can use whatever colors your heart 

         desires :)

     3. Put the sheet with the post it's in the printer, but this time just print the ones with text inside the  

         boxes. 

     4. Stick together and enjoy! 

Weaved Heart Valentine Canvas Art

I have another great Valentines craft for you this week! It's another Decor project. It's simple, fun, and cost efficient.

I call it my "Weaved Heart Canvas Art", and it so easy to make too!

Supplies:
-Canvas
- Painters Tape
- wax paper
- paint
- Vinyl

Steps:

1. Start by painting your canvas.

2. Cut a heart out a vinyl and use the negative (I used my silhouette and a heart shape I found online, more on that here)

3. Put your painters tape on a piece of wav paper and cut it. I did this because I wanted my tape to be thinner. I just put my tape through the paper cutter and pulled it off, it worked really well. 

4. lay the pieces of tape on the canvas horizontally.

5. paint the inside of the heart.

6. remove the pieces of tape.

7. (not pictured) repeat steps 4 and 5, but lay the pieced if tape in the other direction.

We've Been Booed Signs (2 ways)

Happy October everyone! I absolutely LOVE fall!! The weather, the smells, the spices, the colors, the holidays. It's so fun!

I especially love all the traditions me and my family have this time of year. One of the traditions I have the most memories of is when we go booing. We always go all out. Like everyone (my siblings) where's ninja suits and black kind of out. We also like to be the people to start the booing. I feel like it is my "mission" to make a cute booing printable every year. 

I decided to make two different versions of this. One has a polka dot background and the other has a striped background.

They both come with matching instruction sheets too!

DIY {reversible} Mustache Pillow

I've been on a mustache kick lately. Not real mustaches, the cute cartoon ones. Check out this post if you like mustaches too. Today I bring to you, another mustache craft:

The mustache pillow.

It took me a while to finish the wholre project. Not because it's hard. Because I messed it up and it took a while before I was willing to try again. And I finished it just in time for my birthday. (I'm going to be 14!!!!!). I don't think there's a better present than accomplishing something you've been putting off (except a new sewing machine *wink *wink). 

I even included a FREE pattern (I'm so nice ;)).

I made it for  my little nook.  It looks so cute (stay tuned for another pillow tutorial)

So if you want to make one, here's the tutorial.

materials:
-pattern (from here )
-fabric (two different coordinating ones)
-stuffing
-needle and thread
-pins
-fabric scissors

1) Print out the pattern. You will need to print the pattern out twice, cut it out, and then tape the two pieces together.

2) Pin the mustache pattern onto your fabric and cut. Make sure to add a seam allowance. Do this once on both of the fabrics.

3) Pin the two cut out pieces of fabric right sides together and sew a 1/2" seam around the edge.       Remember to leave an opening at the end so you can flip it.

4) Flip your fabric. push out all the corners and curves. This might take a while, but don't give up!!

5) Stuff your pillow with stuffing. Then use your needle and thread to close the hole. That's it, pretty simple, right?

Circular Magnetic Boards Using $$ Store Pizza Pans

So about a year ago I decided I was going to redo my room. It went from brown and pink, to black, white, and turquoise. My room has one turquoise accent wall ( I <3 it) and the rest are white, there kind of dull and there is a lot of hole and nails in the wall from the previous owners. I'm technically done redecorating it, but there's always another accent you can add. Right?

So today I'm going to show you how to make these super cute pizza pan magnet boards. They are SO easy to make, and VERY forgiving. I seriously FAILED on the sewing, but it doesn't really matter on this project. They kind of remind me of giant cover buttons (LOL!!). What do you think?
